The Fostering Network has launched the second annual Walk the Difference walk through London on Saturday 25 October as part of our Sons and Daughters campaign.

The child friendly walk down the majestic River Thames is designed to be a fun and sociable event for all involved, and to raise valuable funds for The Fostering Network so that we can continue our work throughout the UK.

At the first event in 2013, walkers from as far away as Wiltshire raised almost £6,000. That money supported our Don’t Move Me campaign which changed the law so that young people can stay with their foster carers until 21 in England, Wales and Scotland.

Tony Round, head of fundraising at The Fostering Network, said: “This year we need more people to come down, to get involved and walk with us. We want to be seen, be heard and to let everyone know how much we care about foster care.

“The walk is family friendly, with the accessible route taking in some of the capital’s finest sights. We know though that many of you can’t make it down to London, so we’re also calling on you to hold your own local events.

“Could you pull on a pair of walking boots in your region to raise money for the work of The Fostering Network? If you can, please get in touch, we really need your support.”
