Fostering into the future conferences

Fostering into the Future conference in Cardiff

Wednesday 26th June 2024

We are delighted to invite you to attend the first in our new series of annual conferences “Fostering into the Future”.

Join us to engage in discussion on the challenges facing the care system, hear about innovations in foster care and explore potential for practice development.

The conference will provide a forum for debate and learning with input from a number of contributors who will challenge our thinking, bringing fresh perspectives and visionary insights.

The event will be of interest to foster carers, kinship foster carers, those with lived experiences, social workers, teachers, youth workers, academics and policy makers, as well as anyone interested in ensuring our foster care provision is fit for purpose and meets the needs of all those children and young people who need it.

ACE Hub Wales

The ACE Hub Wales works to prevent, tackle and mitigate Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). They promote the sharing of ideas and learning, and challenge and change ways of working, so together we can break the cycle of ACEs.

Everyone has a role to play in Wales becoming an ACE and trauma-informed nation. The TrACE toolkit has been developed as a resource to support people, organisations, sectors and systems to develop their own ACE and trauma-informed approach. It focuses on building into, not onto, existing good practice and identifying where improvements and changes can be made to polices, practice, culture and environment.

Words Matter

Words Matter is a new charity on a mission to improve children’s mental and physical health by changing the way we speak to ourselves and others.

Our early relationships and experiences lay the foundations of how our brain and body get built, and shape who we become. Whether at home or at school, being surrounded by warm and loving words lays the foundations for children to grow and thrive.
