The Fostering Network is the UK’s leading fostering charity. We are dedicated to creating a better future for fostered children and young people. We bring together everyone who is involved in their lives, leading, inspiring, motivating and supporting them to make foster care better. Together with our members and supporters we are a powerful catalyst for change, and we’ve been shaping and influencing the fostering agenda for more than 50 years.

We’re looking for an outstanding individual to join our well-established team of Practice Support Consultants based regionally across England. Working independently in the South West, you will be the lead contact for our members, liaising with fostering services across the region and providing high quality practice support and advice.

We are seeking an exceptional candidate who may have lived experience, or be a foster carer, or have proven social work expertise, but who will have a sound understanding of practice issues in relation to foster care, and demonstrable knowledge of fostering legislation and guidance in England. We want you to bring the skills needed to deliver high quality practice support across the fostering sector.

We want to find someone who is:

  • aware of what is needed in fostering and can help drive best practice
  • an excellent communicator who can engage to a range of audiences – locally, regionally and nationally
  • able to produce high quality written resources
  • able to contribute to the development of The Fostering Network

Based from home, you will work independently and flexibly, engaging with fostering services and those they support across the South West of England.

If you have the sound understanding of fostering services and fostering related issues that we and our members need then we want to hear from you.
