This course aims to give participants an understanding of the legal and ethical responsibilities of record keeping in safeguarding, with a focus on prioritising the child. Objectives include centering the child in all records, clarifying participants' responsibilities, establishing standards for handling disclosures, and promoting positive practices for record keeping and disclosures.
This course will give all participants a clearer understanding of the legal and ethical requirements of good record keeping and safe practice when dealing with safeguarding concerns whilst keeping the child at the centre of our focus.
Aims and objectives:
- To ensure the child is the central focus in Record Keeping
- To provide participants with a clear understanding of their responsibilities in both the legal and ethical requirements of Record Keeping
- To demonstrate clear standards of required practice when receiving a disclosure, or becoming aware of a concern for a child
- To illuminate positive practice methods around Record Keeping and Disclosures
