This course explores how continuous life story work supports children and young people in building a clearer understanding of their past, present, and future.
This course examines how continuous life story work helps children and young people make sense of their past, present, and future. It focuses on approaches that guide young people in processing their personal histories and building a stronger sense of identity. Through this process, they gain emotional resilience and a clearer understanding of their own life journeys.
Aims and objectives:
- Explain what we mean by life work
- Consider the impact of child development, attachment and trauma when undertaking life story work
- Explore a range of approaches used in in journey work
- Identify the required skills for effective life work
- Think about how a child can be supported through life story work
- Explore how to integrate all aspects of a child within:
- their life story including race, gender, age, culture,
- disability and religion
