From jumping out of a plane to baking cakes, there are many ways to support The Fostering Network

Cathy Glass shares her thoughts on how you can get involved in fundraising for The Fostering Network - from skydiving to baking to walking.

There are upwards of 64,000 children living in foster families in the UK. Shockingly every 20 minutes another child comes into care needing a foster family. Sadly the majority of these children are placed in care due to abuse or neglect.

The Fostering Network is the UK’s leading fostering charity. Their vision is that all children in foster care enjoy the very best life chances and are given every opportunity to achieve their full potential.

The Fostering Network  stands up for fostering, fostering families and fostered children at every opportunity, as well as offering vital advice, information and support to fostering families via helplines, publications, training and consultancy.

I often receive emails from readers  asking how they can help. If you’d like to get involved and fundraise for this fantastic charity (which I encourage all of you to do!) there are many ways in which you can do this. They have a whole host of challenge events from Tough Mudder to Colour Runs to Sky Dives so do take a look at their challenge events page and see what takes your fancy. You could host your own Foster Walk, Bake or Quiz or, if you’d like to organise your own fundraising event but need a little inspiration, you can look at the fundraising page for inspiration.

You can also email fundraising@fostering.net for more information and advice about your fundraising journey. They’ll be delighted to help you in any way they can to make sure you make the most of your fundraising efforts!

Alternatively, if jumping out of a plane or baking cakes isn’t quite your thing, you can make a donation directly to The Fostering Network. Every donation, no matter how large or small goes towards ensuring the important work of The Fostering Network can continue.

Thank you
