Men Who Foster

Aim: to allow men who foster an opportunity to share their experiences and gain new insights as they explore the role of fostering, managing risk and helping young people grow in safer families.

This online training will be held over two consecutive evenings - Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th February 2024 (6:30 - 8:30pm)

It will have safer caring running as the central theme and will allow men to discuss and explore this theme in relation to: 

  • Their role and experiences as a male foster carer and the impact they can make in their lives of those they can for 
  • Building relationships with children in their care and relational repair through a trauma lens 
  • Key elements of safer caring and possible opportunities and barriers for this kind of practice 
  • How they can have a child-centred approach and put it into practice.
